We are Cosmo and Rivkah Panzetta, and God has called us to devote our lives to doing whatever is necessary to most effectively reach the Jewish people. We are Assemblies of God U.S. Missionaries to the Jewish people, commissioned in March 2006.
A little bit about us...
COSMO - Yes, the name is real- it's my middle name. My dad is Giovanni Cosmo Panzetta, and I am the Jr. Most of my life people called me Johnny, but when they started trying to call me John, I shifted to my middle name.
Family: My father came from Italy in 1970. His family had been secret Jews (Marranos, or Conversos) in Italy, and a part of the Catholic church. In 1961, he was wonderfully saved in an Italian AG church, and soon after God called him into the ministry. He has been a prison chaplain for 27 years in Bushnell, Florida. In 1970, he married my mom, a third-generation Italian Pentecostal.
Saved & Called Into Ministry: I was saved at a young age, baptized in the Holy Spirit at age 10, and in 1990, at the age of fifteen, God called me into the ministry. In 1997, God began to speak to me about reaching the Jewish people.
Education: B.A. in Psychology, 1996. Southeastern College of the AG (nowSoutheastern University). M.Div.,1999. Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
In 1997, I met and married my beautiful bride, Rivkah.
Rivkah is the Hebrew name for Rebekah.
Family: Rivkah was born and raised in Jewish ministry. She is the daughter of Dr. Ray and Kassiani Gannon. In 1962 two great things happened: her mom immigrated to the U.S. from Greece, and God called her dad to devote his life to Jewish ministry. Rivkah grew up in L. A. and Long Island, where her parents pioneered Messianic congregations, and then in 1989 she moved to Jerusalem where her parents served as AG missionaries until 2004.
Saved & Called Into Ministry: Rivkah was also saved and baptized in the Holy Spirit at a young age. In 1995, God laid a burden upon her heart to minister in the U.S. and in 1997, he began to speak to both she and I about Jewish ministry.
We have four beautiful children: Giovanni Cosmo, III (b. 1999); Antonio Ariel (b. 2001); and Kassiani Sophia (b. 2005) and Rivkalah AnnaSophia (b. 2008).
Our Ministry Experience
2000 - 2001 - Served nearly 2 years as youth pastors at Hillside Christian Center (AG), Napa, California, under the leadership of Pastor Chuck Slater.
2001- 2004 - Served 3 years at youth pastors at Northland Cathedral (AG), Kansas City, MO, under the leadership of Pastor J. Lowell Harrup.
2004 - 2006 - Served as Associate Pastors/Worship Leaders at Bethel Church of Liberty (AG), Liberty, Missouri. under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan D. Gannon.
